We spent 45 minutes with the Mortal Shell II beta running on the PlayStation 5 Pro, using Performance Mode, which appears to target 60 FP. This beta has been a great showcase for what Mortal Shell II can deliver on the PS5 Pro. Performance felt smooth throughout our time with the game, and visually, we came away impressed with how well it holds up.
Having already played Mortal Shell II on a very powerful gaming PC, I expected the PC version to be the obvious choice for me. After playing the PS5 Pro beta, though, I’m not so sure anymore. The console version performed well enough that I’m now reconsidering whether I’ll pick up Mortal Shell II on PC or PS5 Pro when the game launches.
Mortal Shell II releases on August 20, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series XS, and PC.
