Heath Carmody | More 4K Observation Time Lapse set to Music! @heathcarmody2867 | Uploaded June 2022 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
From observation #11 at Shelter Bay ferry on May 22nd. Not the most exciting observation, with persistent inferior mirage for many hours before anything remotely exciting happened. Still a fairly nice transition with a mirage hiding 'not enough for a globe' and eventually transitioning to 'super looming' concave appearance.
Camera heights less than 4 feet and about 6 inches for the later part. Close land at 2.2 km, far point at 11.8 km. Air warmer than the water for most of the observation. I have plenty of observations/videos of these targets so I won't include all the details again here, but anything you want to know, please ask!
I might make another video using more of the 6 inch inferior mirage footage, since it is quite revealing of what I think is a potential problem for the globe model. Time has been limited lately so I haven't been working on my longer projects. The weather has also been quite unusual and unnatural so far this season, making new observations difficult, if not impossible. Hoping to go to the lake again early tomorrow though, for a rare (this year) hot sunny day.
