Moranbong Band HD | Moranbong Band - Beautiful girl (예쁜이) @MBBHD | Uploaded 7 years ago | Updated 58 minutes ago
모란봉악단 - 예쁜이
Music: An Jong-ho (안정호) 1998
Recorded: 2012.07.28 Mokran Video DPRK
An instrumental version of a song about a young beautiful girl who when the war broke out volunteered as a nurse to help protecting the Motherland. She followed the soldiers to the front taking care of them just like a sister would do.
One day when an enemy tank approached them she took a grenade and ran against the tank to destroy it, giving her life to defend her brother soldiers. Since then birds sing wonderfully and the most beautiful flowers bloom at this place to honor her.
This song was placed first in the second part of this long, important concert where the first part started with the national anthem. As the Moranbong Band themselves are young beautiful girls it would seem very strange to begin with a song like this that may easily be interpreted as self-glorifying.
It is however well-known that Marshal Kim Jong-un himself visited several rehearsals before this and the other July 6th concert to provide field guidance. The band members themselves reportedly also worked very hard while preparing for these performances. Sometimes until they literarily fell to the floor, unconscious.
One sensible explanation to all this would be that the Supreme Leader himself simply ordered them to begin the second half with this song as a sign of gratitude for all their hard work.
