A rock cover of "Moon Over the Castle" from the Gran Turismo series, composed by Masahiro Andoh.
Great melody aside, this song's roots fascinated me. The composer, Masahiro Andoh, was the founding guitarist and main composer of Japanese jazz fusion band T-SQUARE for almost 50 years. It was originally going to be the first track of his 1996 solo album, Andy's, before he was hired to compose Gran Turismo and it was turned into the main theme.
Later, it became the base for a T-SQUARE track called Knight's Song. In fact, YouTube Content ID sees this video as "KNIGHT'S SONG"!
To be honest, I wasn't so happy with this arrangement. It's a very hard song to live up to, and I still don't think I was fully satisfied with what I finished with. Still, I think the effort was good enough to release.
