In the SERIES FINALE of MONTHLY, the contestants face their biggest challenge yet...moving on.

[YAP FEST INCOMING]
Yeah, hi. I know you all have tons of speculations on why or how MONTHLY got cancelled, and I've said that I'll explain it when the episode drops soooo lets do that! while I'm not an OSC channel, it's absolutely a huge part of my identity. I won't even try to deny that. By late 2024 BFBATTLE was getting more and more sidelined and MSMS 1 was taking too long, so I wanted to make one more object show. But...what would be the gimmick?

BFBATTLE was a regular joke show while MSMS had more lore and build up. Both took a lot of time so I wanted to make something quick on the side to keep my audience entertained while I worked on bigger projects. I've always been interested by the original idea of BFB, where episodes would come out on a monthly basis with its extremely large cast. I wanted to try this exact gimmick without the path BFB went down where episodes just got more and more ambitious. I had two scrapped casts from earlier that year, so I just put them together and added a new batch of characters to create a nice group of 64 contestants, the episode was written, the intro was quickly made, I voiced everyone and MONTHLY was born! Because this show wasn't trying to be anything big I decided to just give it my raw unfiltered humor as opposed to the more tame jokes I usually do, a nice change of fresh air to help MONTHLY stand out.

I didn't do much promotion for MONTHLY outside of twitter, but the show quickly started pulling in new viewers to the point where it had it's own established fanbase! New fans were coming in every week, countless pieces of fanart, profile pictures and clips were in every niche corner of the OSC and it was really surreal to see, it looked like everything was going up. But at a cost...

When you make a show that thrives on crude, edgy humor for your small fanbase, that goes OUTSIDE of it, it starts to cause some problems. I won't go into too much detail but a lot of MONTHLY's engagement was from people who liked the show and shared the most edgy jokes they could find for the sake of being edgy, which in turn caused the show to gain a quick hatebase for those exact clips, making MONTHLY a very divided show and making me a very divided individual in the community. A lot of people who didn't even know me assumed I was this careless edgelord character who loved nothing more than pissing people off, which heavily affected my social life online and several people either cut me off or spoke ill about me behind my back, and a lot of my "fans" weren't much better. MONTHLY has 64 contestants. 64. I admit, the screentime was a little imbalanced, I do think the attention Fent, Weed and Hot Girl got from fans was very overblown and shallow. They became the poster children for the show at least from the fanbase's perspective, somehow forgetting characters like RGB and Paper Note (who only interacted with hot girl and fent by the way!!!) which became really, REALLY tiring when it came to talking about the show with fans. Both the supporters and critics of MONTHLY just weren't properly engaging with the show they werre so vocal about and were unintentionally painting a false image of me in their head.

After MONTHLY 6, I wanted to turn opinions of the show around. I realized that people thought I relied on edgy humor, that I couldn't carry an episode without it. I wanted episode 7 to be a big challenge that showcased all the overlooked characters in their element, so I decided to put all the crude jokes I thought of at the elimination, just to get it over with. This is perfect! People will FINALLY see the show for what it is! A fun object show with countless favourites to choose from! Once the silly jokes at the start are over with, MONTHLY can be more than "that one unfunny edgy object show!"

...I was wrong. SO wrong. We all know about the new tv joke, it's basically become my internet identity. I didn't think anything of it, I expected it to get talked about among fans but that's about it. People everywhere were using the audio to animate their favourite characters on tiktok and it wouldn't stop. Not only did I fail at what I tried to do, but everything I just mentioned amplified tenfold. People would talk about the new tv thing outside of OSC spaces and that's when it just hit me...This is all too much. I can't commit to this. Something that was meant to be a silly side project ended up becoming its own identity and it wasn't good for me mentally, my disinterest with object shows not helping either. I think MONTHLY was a good experiment and I'll miss a lot of these characters, but that's about it. I had to cancel it for the sake of myself. I know a lot of you will miss it, so I want to thank all the people who genuinely liked the show, and I hope you can understand why this all happened. See y'all soon.
