Swords of the Renaissance is an fencing event in Potsdam dedicated to the fighting systems of this period. The lectures are pretty short (30min) and should be an introduction into one specific topic. Further discussions and free play are highly encouraged.

"Montante: How to defend a breach in a wall"

This tactical workshop focuses on controlling space with a few simple montante rules (reglas), footwork and mindset.
Elmar trains with the Hospitaliter zu Magdeburg. He has been mainly concerned with the Montante and sources of Esgrima Commun for 2.5 years. Additionally his training focuses on Godinho's sword, the Mangual, the stick of the jogo do pau and their respective practical application.
