This is the logo used by the Montague Pictures Corporation from 1979 to 1999. Sound wise, this is the main variant, though occasionally the film's music would play over the logo instead.

Trivia: Apparently, Montague Pictures almost took Microsoft Home to court in 1996 over Microsoft Home's use of the Montague name (and this ident, in particular) in a certain program called "3D Movie Maker" without explicit permission from Montague Pictures.
P.S. Also, it's a shame we don't hear much from Montague Pictures these days and that montaguepictures.com is apparently no longer live. Let's hope Montague Pictures' legacy lives on for some time, and that montaguepictures.com makes its triumphant return to the Internet.
