This isn't an update, only a video showing the few known remaining screen shots of a the prototype version of Monster Party. Please continue to read this as I have many interesting things to say about it. I'll tell you about each screenshot as they appear in the video and more.

Shot#1- The title screen that we've almost fully restored to the best of out ability. The monster with the title between his teeth is oozing blood instead of the familiar green slime in the retail version. Its lips are pink also. We can also see a spider who's head appears to resemble a human's. The copyright information at the bottom is different also. This may have been before it was licensed, or before Bandai agreed to publish it.

Shot#2- A japanese version of the intro. I did read a (poorly) translated version of it on a website, it seems to be the same basic story, Bert wants Mark to help rid his world of evil monsters.

Shot#3- I VERY early-looking shot of the first level. It looks to be the beginning of round 1, it seems to match up pretty well. Notice that Mark has a white and pink color scheme and there is a blue enemy on the right. It isn't a "flaming goth kid," it actually looks like an enemy found in round 7, but blue. We can see that the tiles and background are very different.

Shot#4- This time Bert is shown with the pink and white colors. we can see the familiar sprite of the goth kid also. Bert and the goth kid seem to have different projectiles that look identical. This shot also matches up well with a current section of the game, but the way it appears in the final, its the horror themed version meaning that the transformation scene might not have happened.

Shot#5- The beta-form of the Audrey II inspired boss. This was probably in a final form before localization.

Shot#6- Probably a final version, or close to it.

Also upon reading a poorly translated screenshot it seems that originally there were planned to be 15 stages. I'd imagine that was canned pretty early in development.
