Kushner Companies has secured two construction loans totaling $415 million to help fund the transformation of the historic Monmouth Mall into an open-air shopping center and residential development called Monmouth Square. Whole Foods Market is slated to move into the space currently occupied by Barnes & Noble, which will be relocated to a new retail building in the project’s center. The remaining retailers, including an AMC movie theater, Macy’s, and Boscov’s, will remain open during construction.
