Inside Monkey Shoulder Distillery + Tasting the Smokey Monkey đđ„
In this video I take you behind the scenes of Monkey Shoulder â the Speyside blended malt whisky from William Grant & Sons, launched in 2003 and famously named after the repetitive strain injury (âmonkey shoulderâ) that maltmen used to get from turning malt by hand.
Then I crack open the Smokey Monkey â the peated sibling in the range, created with input from bartenders specifically for cocktails. Itâs a blend of malt whiskies (one peated, using Highland rather than Islay peat), matured in ex-bourbon casks, bottled at 40% ABV
