A practical workshop to help animal welfare teams build confidence in fundraising. We’ll cover mindset shifts, simple donor conversation scripts, and how to communicate urgency without guilt or pressure. Participants will walk away with actionable takeaways to boost their donor engagement.
Key Takeaways:
• Strong fundraising is rooted in clarity: when organizations clearly communicate impact, donors are more confident in giving.
• Donors don’t give to need alone—they give to outcomes, leadership, and trust.
• Small shifts in messaging and donor engagement can significantly improve funding results without adding staff or burnout.

About Community Conversations, hosted by Maddie’s Fund: When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020, animal sheltering transformed overnight. Foster-based sheltering, home-based employees and volunteers, along with collaboration galvanized our communities. The pandemic, along with social injustice, has motivated our industry to look at how we partner with our communities and confront our own biases. Shelter and rescue staff across the country began talking on a weekly basis, offering support and innovative ideas to do things differently.
