We had some major issues getting to the park via public transportation from Amsterdam. Every time we showed up to a train track, the train was cancelled! Luckily Leonard was able use the 9292.nl app to get south from Amsterdam to city to city until there was an available train to Tilburg (we were also looking for Den Bosch), but honestly not sure how a newbie would have navigated that. Using the boards at the stations was the best way to figure out what was going on - even the 9292.nl app didn't have up-to-date info and we hopped on trains that were on the boards but not on the app. In the end, what should have been a 2 hour trip ended up taking 4 hours!
We ate all of the vegetarian food we could find, including the chicken nuggets that were newly transitioned to plant-based. Leonard reminisced about Adam The Woo after riding Danse Macabre. Carnival Festival was supposed to be closed for refurbishment during the trip but ended up opening last-minute, so Molly got to experience it! Finally, we got drinks with Werner at the newly refurbished Wonder Hotel, which was a very disorienting experience after years of staying at the old version. FYI, we found out the hard way that they will not let visitors into The Grand Hotel - we tried to meet up with Werner for drinks at Mystique, but they wouldn't let him in because it's inside the park and he didn't have a ticket.
