With the help of an old Ryobi dust buster I modified my kids power wheels to use the standard 18v ryobi L-ion batteries my other cordless tools use. Doing this allows me to never worry about if my kids power wheels battery is charged and also gives the car much more power as its going from 12V to 18V.
