We finally took the Model Y Juniper into the Tesla Service Center to address that stubborn door issue. The door was opening, but the window wouldn't drop, making it super sketchy to open or close without hitting the trim. Interestingly, after the mobile tech left, the door felt more solid, but the electrical gremlin stayed behind!
Pro Tip for Service: Before you drop your car off, always remove your aftermarket wheel covers! Tesla technicians perform tire and PSI inspections as part of the service, and they can’t reach the valve stems if your covers are blocking them. I made sure to pull mine so they could get the 37 PSI back up to spec without any hassle.
The Fix: The technician verified the issue and found the culprit—a "soft set" in the door harness. They had to replace the entire rear left-hand door harness to get everything communicating properly again. While they worked on it, I scored a 2026 Model S Long Range as a 24-hour test drive loaner!
I also noticed a cool new feature: as soon as I pulled into the service center, the car popped up with helpful service tips and check-in info on the screen. It seems like a recent software update that makes the whole experience much more seamless. Have you seen these service tips pop up yet?
