This is a long term (1/200 scale) model ship project which I have been working on for the last few years. I will post updates to the Trumpeter HMS Hood "Playlist" on this channel, as the build moves along at it's own pace. Consider this episode as part 1 in a an ongoing laid-back series.
As it will be built to a "fine scale" standard, It will most likely take a few more years to finish. The period is one that is rarely modeled. The reason I choose to model this period is I feel the HMS Hood looked her best in this period of re-fit just prior to the Spanish Civil War in 1937. The build will be extensive which will include much scratch building, some brass, and some Micro Master 3D printed details.
I hope it inspires modeler's of all ages and skill to try a ship model for themselves, as they are very rewarding in the end.
Warren Jones AKA Boomer Diorama
Cheers.
