Mocean Worker is otherwise known as Adam Dorn, and when he's not indulging his beat-freak proclivities on his own, he helps his father Joel run the 32 Jazz reissue label. Among other things, this means that he doesn't have much trouble clearing samples, and he uses that enhanced level of access in a number of highly creative ways on this album. The most impressive of these is on the cleverly titled "Counts, Dukes, and Strays," an acid jazz tour de force constructed entirely out of samples from compositions by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Billy Strayhorn. But he knows other secret handshakes, as well: "Times of Danger" is a pitch-perfect homage to TV spy-show soundtracks, and "Detonator" is an equally fine addition to the dark drum'n'bass tradition. He's swinging without a net on "Mycroft," which combines Sherlock Holmes dialogue with Hawaiian steel guitar, and he manages to pull it off. Almost every track has moments like these. This is an album that bears up under repeated listenings, which is not always the case with electronic dance music.

The Palm Channel will present some of the highlights from our catalogue, an eclectic mix of original short films, interviews from our archives exploring the roots and branches of Jamaican music, and much more.
Created by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell (Bob Marley, U2, Grace Jones etc.). Palm Pictures has always pushed musical boundaries and encouraged unlikely collaborations. Since the late 90's it has been a leader in the convergence of music and film, producing and distributing music documentaries, arthouse & foreign cinema, and music videos.

![Duke Vin interview [Part 2] [UNCUT]
Second part of this two-parter with the UK’s original sound system man, in which he describes his relationship with Count Suckle, a rivalry that continued to provoke animosity, and, on the other hand, the philosophy that helped him cope with racism and bigotry in his early days in England (“good times...tough times”). “Fools do not know they are fools”, he observes, and clearly he does not suffer them gladly. Finally, in bonus B-roll footage (trigger warning: not for those susceptible to motion sickness) we visit the inner sanctum where his vast collection of 45s is stored in..7” pizza boxes, the Duke spins a few tunes, and we meet the delightful Mrs. Vin.

![Honeydogs: Heres Luck [Full Album]
Listen the full album:
00:00 Stonewall
04:10 Sour Grapes
08:33 Wilson Boulevard
12:41 Pins In Dolls
17:14 Red Dye #40
20:48 Hearts & Heads
24:07 For The Tears
27:40 Losing Transmissions
31:41 The Crown
35:53 Freakshow
40:12 Chasing The Sun
On Heres Luck, the Honeydogs desperately fight to keep meaningful and melodic guitar rock alive, fusing British Invasion-inspired pop with country-flavored roots rock. Alternating between rave-ups like Sour Grapes and Losing Transmissions and lush ballads such as Wilson Boulevard and Pins in Dolls, the Minneapolis-based group puts together its most cohesive, satisfying release yet. Red Dye #40 sports a maddening melody, thanks to the inclusion of an electric sitar and a Wurlitzer in the mix. . The Honeydogs alone may not win the war against boy bands, rap, and testosterone-fueled rock, but they certainly make the fight more interesting.
