In this cross between animation test (24 fps) and MOC showcase, I am happy to present my version of Toa Nidhiki before he was transformed into a Dark Hunter.
I have been working on Toa Nidhiki for YEARS, but it has been in recent years that I put some extensive redesigns until the final model you see here just in time for the upcoming and long-awaited Toa Nidhiki contest.
Throughout this video I was experimenting with newer techniques that I haven't used. Believe it or not, this might be the first animation I made in which I used putty for my character's legs and holding rigs, of which you can see at a few moments. This is partially because I wasn't able to mask all the rigs out, but also to show off to newbie animator how to get their characters to jump, walk, and do other dynamic movements with ease.
Audio near the end comes from Disney's Pinocchio (soundtrack), and Treasure Planet (especially with Michael Wincott's voice work as Mr. Scroop, a character very similar to Nidhiki in terms of looks and voice).
