Years ago when Moby was just starting to break big, he and I exchanged emails a few times after someone in a music discussion group found his email address. One day I just up and decided to write him. Richard was exceptionally polite and very gracious with his time, a kindness I have never forgotten. I wish we had stayed in touch these past 25 years. At the time, my email account was through the University of Maine, and all I remember from his email at the time was the word "phantom". Not sure if that was the server, the domain, or part of his user name. Perhaps he will see this video and it will jog his memory. Who knows?
I wanted to commemorate that brief acquaintance with footage of his native New York City, a city that is always rushing.
