Fox Family Heating and Air Conditioning | Mobile Home AC Systems @foxfamilyheatingandaircond4696 | Uploaded 2 years ago | Updated 4 days ago
Air conditioners are a lifesaver for those who live in a mobile home. In this video I wanted to have a conversation around mobile homes and what we as experienced HVAC technicians see and hear from our mobile homeowners when it comes to staying comfortable in their homes.
Is your mobile home AC not working? Is your mobile home heater not warm? These are signs that you might need a mobile home hvac replacement. There are mobile home furnaces and air conditioners for mobile homes. Coleman and Intertherm are the most popular mobile home and trailer home hvac systems.
While they are pretty straightforward in the removal and replacement of the system, there are some essential parts of the job that just can’t be messed up:
• The sheet metal transition back to the existing ductwork.
• The condensate drainage still requires a p-trap even though the evap coil is sitting level with the floor.
• The gas piping needs a gas sediment trap that meets the new building code standard (CA Plumbing Code 1212.8)
• The exhaust needs a proper flue connection to the roofline and into the atmosphere.
• Coleman and Intertherm evaporator coils don’t come with a thermal expansion valve already connected. They need to be field installed by the technician.
• High and low-voltage connections need to be made safely.
The Biggest Issue We Hear from Mobile Home Owners: Airflow
Why is airflow a problem in mobile homes? I'm going to talk about the layout of the ductwork and why airflow seems to be such an issue in a mobile home and trailer home. Whether it be a single-wide or double-wide mobile home the air seems to not reach all of the rooms the same. And this is what I talk about.
