This third video in the Rolling Drum Kit Platform series details building the sockets that hold the legs in place, the tongue for pulling the platform, and the angle aluminum along the edges to strengthen the plywood.
The idea of the platform is to transport a small drum kit without having to break it down. The drum rack legs are permanently anchored to the platform so that they do not shift, fold or collapse. The cymbals and heads may be lowered for transporting and raised for playing without needing to pack anything down. Caster wheels fold up out of the way to set the platform down for playing, then fold down and lift it for transporting.
The kit used in this video is an enhanced Roland TD-11. It uses an MDS-4V stand. The original PD-8A pads have been replaced with two PD-100s and one PD-125. The added ride cymbal is a CY-15R, freeing both CY-8 cymbals for crashes, one using the auxiliary cymbal input jack on the sound module.
