Well, I tried my best. Apologies in advance for not living up to Venus Wars standards. Drawn and animated by yours truly over 4 years' worth of weekends, with music by the living guitar solo Zak Rahman and sound design by up and coming audio technician Joseph Leyva. Fans of Lucasarts' seminal 1994 TIE Fighter game may notice a few familiar sights and sounds. That “incoming missile” noise gives me horrible flashbacks to this day...
Special thanks to the good folk at Lucasfilm for encouraging people to get creative and make these kind of projects. It's thanks to their extremely fan-friendly nature that we can enjoy IMPS: The Relentless, TROOPS, etc.

I wanted to show the cockpit of a mech as a cosy place where a person can sit, turn on the central heating and get away from the cold. Originally, he was going to get out a thermos flask and sip some coffee whilst the external cameras came online, but I didn't have time, sadly.
As always, music by Zak. Abe did some inbetweening and colouring for the final three shots, so spare a thought for the poor fellow as I forced him to draw 5 tones of shading onto each frame.

The C64 was the most popular and best selling 8-bit home gaming computer for around ten years. It was known for two things:
1 - Its huge library of cheap (most games were £2.99!) original games and arcade/cross platform converions.
2 - Its revolutionary SID sound chip which gave the distinctive "C64 sound."
In the same way that the NES sounded totally different to the Sega Master System, the C64 sounded unlike anything else - and was technically superior (musically) to the 8-bit consoles which came later.
