This is the very first part of a new kind of full-game TAS - explained below...
THE MAIN GOAL OF THIS TAS IS ACTUALLY NOT TO OPTIMISE FOR TIME, BUT FOR THE MOST ENTERTAINING WAY TO SHOWCASE THE GAME POSSIBLE. CASUAL% IS BASICALLY JUST AIMING FOR ENTERTAINMENT WITH LEARN% AND INTENDED% AS RESTRICTIONS
Heres a run down of how this is going to work:
Casual% is a combination of many different types of speedruns. 120 stars, BLJless, All Signs, All Toads, and etc. As the name suggests, this run is intended to demonstrate how a newcomer would learn the game. The catch is, the only way that you can actually do any action is if youve learned how to do it. This means that you cant learn how to do something such as a dive until youve been specifically taught how to from a sign (that specific sign is in the BBH courtyard). This run will also attempt to present every feature in the game in the way that the developers intended you to discover them. This means kicking down the plank to collect red coins in WF, using the hangable ceiling for HMC Amaze-ing Emergency Exit, using the cannon for all the stars where it was originally intended to be used, visiting Yoshi after collecting 120 stars, taking a moment to look at the view from the bridge on TTM, using the hand for TTC Get A Hand and Stomp on the Thwomp, only collecting 100 coin stars once we are taught that they exist, only collecting red coin stars once we are taught that they exist, only collecting stars that involve secrets once we are taught that they exist, taking every secret castle warp and death exit possible where they can be used. This TAS will showcase as much of the game as is possible, all while acting as a regular person learning how to play Super Mario 64.
