This should work with any grotto as far as I know.
There is only one frame to enter and you must sidehop/backflip into the grotto or else the night transition freeze effect will softlock you. I'm not entirely sure what causes that to happen but it happened to fullgrowngaming some time ago: twitch.tv/fullgrowngaming/clip/AgreeableOutstandingPancakeLeeroyJenkins?filter=clips&range=all&sort=time
I'm also unsure if this is caused by the night transition or culling, I haven't tested enough yet.
It was known in Ocarina of Time that entering a grotto while dead or while the grotto is culled would cause it to load your previous entrance. So I decided to test the same concept in Majora's Mask and this happened.
Mayor's residence is map 0 and the grotto entrance defaults to it. There are already some ways to alt exit grottos to Mayor's which is explained here: youtu.be/52b2SOWWmMk
