The next generation of MLP is officially here! Hasbro just dropped a massive announcement at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, revealing the brand-new animated series: My Little Pony: Forever Friendship!
After over a year of waiting and speculation, we finally have all the official details on the characters, the release schedule, the brand-new voice cast, and the fresh visual style. But the biggest question the fandom is asking: WHERE are Rarity and Applejack?! My Little Pony: Forever Friendship is set to premiere exclusively on YouTube in early 2027. Moving away from the traditional 22-minute television format, this new era will feature bite-sized 9-minute episodes dropping bi-weekly.
The series builds on the legendary Friendship is Magic era but takes our ponies on a brand-new journey of self-discovery, magic, and connection.
The story initially focuses on a core Mane 4 cast, featuring a completely new lineup of voice actors! We have Jenna Weir taking on Twilight Sparkle, Ava Preston flying in as Rainbow Dash, Kayla Samson voicing Fluttershy, and Kaya Kanashiro bringing the energy as Pinkie Pie.
But for everyone panicking about the missing ponies—take a breath! According to attendees at the SDCC reveal panel, the absence of Rarity and Applejack is actually part of the storyline, and it has been confirmed that they WILL appear later in the series!
Visually, the franchise is getting a massive overhaul. The new art style is described as having "luminous color and iridescent magic," developed by animation studio Lil Critter Workshop alongside acclaimed illustrator Nicholas Kole (best known for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Disney's Lorcana).
On top of that, the music is getting an upgrade! You can actually go stream a special cover of the show's brand-new theme song, "FOREVER FRIENDSHIP" performed by Cali Rodi, on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon right now. Hasbro has also teased even more new music and an official accompanying podcast series coming soon!
