This is a tool-assisted speedrun (TAS). This time will not count on any real rankings. Created on Dolphin 5.0 with a real Wiichuk, slowdown, savestates, frame advance, and RAM watch.

My long-awaited return to the fiery depths of Grumble Volcano. Possibly one of the most frustrating categories to TAS in MKW, so I'm happy with how the run turned out.
You might notice that the lap 2 in this run is slower than the former BKT's lap 2, however, this is simply because I trigger lap 3 a bit later (I'm still ahead position-wise throughout the whole race). Most of the timesave comes from a better 2nd shroom.
On numerous occasions, I was able to get a much tighter last turn than the one in this run, but they all resulted in a NLC: (youtube.com/watch?v=fuRkqSgL7Ys).
The RFH drift in that video is incredibly tedious to get, so this was the best I could do after trying on and off for 3 months. Though to compensate, I'm around 10km/h faster in the air than the previous BKT when I do the hop right after using the 3rd shroom.

The goal of this TAS was to complete a single lap as fast as possible.
The majority of the timesave here comes from clipping the earlier tree, along with not hitting the very edge of the cave wall to align for the last turn. Instead, we get a precise stick to the road which lets us only slow down to 80km/h instead of around 18km/h.
I also managed to begin a miniturbo charge from when I clip through the ceiling of the cave, which Blaze doesnt get in Lap 1 of his 3lap TAS. Maybe this could be implemented in the 3lap TAS, saving some time?
Im happy that I was able to get the glitch at the end to work with the sign shroomless, I dont think anyone has clipped through that wall without a shroom before. If its possible to land back and stay on the seam somehow, then that could actually have heaps of flap potential.

I tried my hardest to optimise this run, however I think lap 1 can be cut down to 10.3. Maybe a sub 30 could happen if new strats are found. I spent around 15 hours making this run in total.
Weird 300cc physics is the reason why I dont wheelie during or after a boost. It can be quite hard to optimise a 300cc TAS, as racing a ghost doesnt really work, and neither does TAS Code.
Also shoutouts to JMM - who had the closest time prediction (he guessed 27, only 3.439 off).
