![[MKWii] Custom Track: Festival Dash (v1.0)
Hello and welcome to another custom track. This is Festival Dash, a short and simple track with several turns and Piantas in the background. The model was originally made by Putinas and uploaded to the SketchUp 3D Warehouse. I made the track playable in game. I also made some adjustments to the model such as adding more fencing, improving the texturing and making a small part of the road sloped. The original model was entirely flat so I thought the sloped part near the end would be a good gameplay switch up. Admittedly, this is not my best work. I decided to make this just for the heck of it and so I can gain a bit more experience with the track creation process. I tried a few new things like using BrawlCrate to generate the .brres file instead of BrawlBox and making a shaded minimap (the latter of which Ive only done once before). Currently, the track does have a few small issues in the technical sense. For instance, there are few very minor position jump bugs that can occur on occasion and the enemy routes could be improved (they tend to have trouble with the 180 degree turn on the sloped part). Still, Im okay with the track enough to release it in this state. Maybe Ill go back and fix these issues later, I dont know. Regardless, I hope you like this and thank for watching the video!

![[MKDS] Unused/Hidden Courses (Beta Tracks)
Almost all of the unused tracks in MKDS. Most of the track names are unofficial. Here is a short description on each track:
Pipe Place (dokan_course) - A midair track with two large pipes. This track was most likely used to test collision, due to the pipes and structure of the road. It should also be noted that the word dokan means pipe in Japanese.
DK Alps (donkey_course) - An early version of DK Pass with different enemies and a slightly different layout. You can drive on the grass as if it was road and falling off the track results in crashing the game because there are no respawn points (This goes for most of the tracks here). This, and mr_stage1 were the only courses that were completely removed from the final game.
Waluigi Pinball (pinball_course) - An early version of Waluigi Pinball with many differences such as a different layout, obstacles, and much more. This track still exists in the final version under the name, donkey_course.
Split-Up Beach (nokonoko_course) - An unused beach track with several different paths. This track does not load on the physical cartridge, only on emulators or Slot-2 cards. It was probably gonna be some sort of Koopa Troopa Beach track (as Noko Noko is the Japanese name for Koopa), but it was most likely replaced with Cheep Cheep Beach.
Test Circle (test_circle) - An extremely small circular track using for testing the mechanics of the game. This course only has one lap and a single item box. It is one of the few unused tracks to have respawns (despite the fact that falling off of it is impossible).
GCN Mario Circuit (old_mario_gc) - An unfinished port of Mario Circuit from Mario Kart: Double Dash. Objects such as the Goombas, Trees, etc. are missing and much like DK Alps, you can drive on the grass as if it were road. This is also the only unused course to have an intro, albeit an incomplete one. This track was later featured in Mario Kart Wii. In my opinion, I think they should have finished this track and used it in this game instead since MKW had too many Mario Circuits.
Wario Stadium 2 (wario_course) - A clone of Wario Stadium with the only differences being the lack of fireball objects and the differently placed item boxes. Its unknown why this course exists, but it may have been different during development and simply replaced.
Luigi Flipper (luigi_course) - A very early version of Waluigi Pinball with a different layout, and different textures. This track has no item boxes or respawn points. Near the end of the track, there is an alternate path where the player can go under the pinball machine.
Test1 Course (test1_course) - A track that was used for testing collision. This course freezes when loaded due to a missing object file. This track was also used for testing animated objects such as the draw bridge in Delfino Square, the gears in Tick-Tock Clock, and the moving platforms in Bowser Castle. If you fall off, you will endlessly respawn underneath the course. During some point in development, its model was replaced with an early version of Rainbow Road. The original model was later restored by a modder named PabloMK7 (See both versions here: https://youtu.be/7VyTRH2i-Js, https://youtu.be/0iuqRaPgP5k).
There is also one unused battle arena, and one unused mission mode arena. They are:
GCN Block City (mini_block_course) - An unfinished port of Block City from Mario Kart: Double Dash. The blocks are missing as only the main model is present, but there are item boxes. There is a hole in one of the block areas, as there is a Mission file where the player must push the Big Bully into the hole. Video here: https://youtu.be/U_jv6ML8fo4
Early Big Bully Boss Area (mr_stage1) - An early version of the boss fight arena with Big Bully. This course crashes when loaded unless its .nkm file is added. This course also uses textures from Yoshi Falls as it has no textures of its own. This, and donkey_course (DK Alps) were the only courses that were completely removed from the final game. The music that plays on most of these tracks is called SEQ_CIRCUIT2. This song does not exist in the final version. Listen to it here: https://youtu.be/WJaOUnfMIEc. [MKDS] Unused/Hidden Courses (Beta Tracks)](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/n9C9PkMpw9w/mqdefault.jpg)
