Today, for the #TeamTinyFavorites Video hop I chose to really dig into what were my favorite things in cardmaking. One of the things I really enjoy as a small business owner myself is supporting other small businesses. Funny enough the image stamp sets I used in today's cards were purchased because I "met" the business owner in a Facebook group. I was asking about people mashing stamp companies together in one card like I often do, and she replied that she likes doing that but she owns her own company so she often uses her own items. This turned into a quick conversation something like "what company do you own" "ink blot shop" "hmmm, I'll go look" "thanks" "I placed an order"
In supporting a small company I am supporting a family, new and creative thought, and someone's dreams. Those things really matter to me.
It was a quick interaction but as a small business owner I know how amazing it feels to put your product in someone's hands. And I wanted her to feel that. If this blog post were a song it would be that one that says "these are a few of my favorite things" ... ;) Because there is so much more. This card is jam packed with favorites.
I really enjoy mashing companies together. I used the Ink Blot Shop's image stamps but used a sentiment from Trinity Stamps. While they are a larger company, they are by no means a very large company. This set was also gifted to me at Christmas by a friend. This is a senti-mini set called Kind One. P.S. Thank you Courtney.
I also enjoy paper piecing , I chose to paper piece the dog bed the cat took over with some paper from Doodlebug's Dog Love 6x6 paper pad. I used this paper pad to do the patterned paper layout for this card. Using patterned paper is another love of mine.
My coloring medium of choice, Copics. Markers used: E57,E57, E77 & E79 Dog Y26, YR23, YR27 Cat rug and Bird perch C0, C2, C4 Shading on the patterned paper for the dog bed E07, E37, YR27 Cat R81, R83, R85, R89 Cat nose, bird belly B32, B34, B37 Bird Body YR65, YR68 Bird Beak W5 & W7 Dog Nose BG53, C2 & C4 Dog bed BG70, BG72, & BG75 Wall color W5, W7, &W9 Floor color. I finished this card with heat embossing two different ways. Colored heat embossing on dark cardstock (white on black) and Black stamping with clear embossing on white cardstock. All of these techniques add so much to the final product.
Now that I've probably bored you with the details of my favorites and how I incorporated them, I wanted to talk a little about what is going on in this scene. You see the dog, he got a brand new bed from his owner. And as always the cat had to check it out first. It seems as though the dog is fine with it and takes residency on the cat's rug which is much, much too small. The entire time the bird watches from his perch and notices how kind the dog really is. He could have chased the cat from his new bed but he just laid down on the rug instead.
All this to say, be a dog, be this dog, be kind.
Thank you for stopping by and as always GIVE CARDS GENEROUSLY!

Confused about why I named it all Delaney Jane Cards if my name is Renee’? This entire thing, shop, YouTube channel, blog, etc, it is all named after our angel daughter who passed away in 2013. I made her some promises when she passed away. I would spread joy, I would make her proud and I would speak her name daily. This is one way we choose to honor her memory, and help me keep my promises.
