Sharing a fun tutorial on how I make an easy textured background using some of my favorite Distress products. This technique is perfect for art journaling, junk journals, cards, tags, etc.


I’m working with a #5 Distress Heavystock tag.

1) Using the Distress Embossing Dabber apply ink randomly to the tag leaving some open areas.

2) Sprinkle Embossing Glaze onto the inked tag. I’m using Lost Shadow.

3) Tap the back of the tag to remove excess powder.

4) Heat powder to melt.

5) Scribble Distress Crayon onto the melted Glaze. Im using Walnut Stain.

6) Lightly spritz tag with water.

7) Work the Distress Crayon into the tag.

8) With a damp paper towel lightly wipe off the excess crayon.

TIPS:

For more grunge repeat steps 5 - 8.

This technique can be done with any color combination of Glaze and Crayons.
