For this months challenge I have created a journal book cover out of a paper bag, and turned it into this grungy steampunkish journal cover. Once my paper bag was all opened up and folded I adhered a pcs. of heavy chipboard to the front cover to give it a more sturdy feel. I then covered the entire surface with black gesso, once dry I used 2 different types of stencils and modeling paste to get some texture. I let it all dry over night and once dry I went over the entire surface with white acrylic paint and while the paint was still wet I smeared on white glue and got this great background effect.
Next comes the fun part. adding the beautiful chipboard pcs. I got from Creative Embellishments . I adhered the chipboard pcs with white glue and used mica powders in shades of turquoise, bronze, and black to give more color to my cover. The last element I added to my cover where micro beads, randomly spread to give my cover a bit more texture.
