Welcome back to Piles of Paragraphs Creative Space! In this video, I’m sharing two handmade mixed media mini books I created during an inspiring workshop with artist Seth Apter. This class pushed me outside my comfort zone and deeper into mixed media art, and I’m so excited about the textures, layers, and techniques I explored!

These little art books feature gel printing, stamping, mark making, collage, rust dyeing, stenciling, and embossing techniques—plus vintage photo album covers, watercolor paper, fabric, coffee filters, and even found metal pieces. I also tried Seth’s unique rust powder method and embossing “skins,” which added incredible texture and dimension. So many ideas, so much creative inspiration, and such a wonderful learning experience!
