Mixing piano can seem complicated, but it's not.
The key (pun intended) is to understand the role that a piano plays in a mix. It isn't just a chordal instrument it's also a percussive instrument. The moment you get that you can start to treat it almost like you would an acoustic guitar.
You want the warmth and fullness a good piano gives you, but none of that matters if you can't pick out the piano in a mix.
So in today's video I'm going to show you the simple move I do on 99% of all piano tracks I mix to help it sit just right!
