It's really annoying because I've cut all of the rest of the kitchen floor tiles flawlessly but the problem is I took a two week break and kind of forgot what made what I was doing so successful. And since then we've had a load of rain and the pallet I was cutting the tiles on has swelled and is no longer flat. And that's where the problem came. I'm really low on tiles and now I'm going to have to buy some more because I snapped the first two tiles that I cut. How to Find Cables in The Ceiling #shorts Charlie DIYte (CharlieDIYte) 2024-04-03 | How I used a cheap endoscope to find electric cables in my ceiling. I bought it because although I had carefully marked where the cables were on a plan, if they're slightly out of reach of your fingers you literally don't know where they are. This happened and we had to take down a piece of plasterboard to find them, so I decided to buy an endoscope to solve the problem. It's been a lifesaver - my electrician has also bought one. It connects to your phone by WIFI even though it's also powered by a cable you plug into your phone - not sure why they need the WIFI, but you do NOT need to be on a WIFI network to use it. My electrician was wondering this (he's bought one) and so we switched off my wifi network and I was still able to connect it up. How to Adjust a Front Door Strike Plate #shorts Charlie DIYte (CharlieDIYte) 2023-12-01 | How I did a quick and simple mod on a badly installed forend strike plate to stop the door bolt catching it. The obvious thing to do was lower the forend strike plate but this involved pegging each screw hole, chiselling the door frame and filling the gap left from moving the strike plate. By far the easiest option was to trim a couple of mms from the bottom of the strike plate, which I did using my Black & Decker power file and Dremel. Which floor clamp is the best? #shorts Charlie DIYte (CharlieDIYte) 2023-05-24 | I try out three methods of clamping floorboards to demonstrate which floor clamp is the best - for installing my engineered oak flooring. And for all those carpenters out there who might be thinking that I should have installed noggins or a sub layer with this flooring, it's NOT NECESSARY. These are supreme oak 220mm wide x 21mm thick 10 layer hardwood ply under-core floorboards with a 6mm thick oak top layer. They're tongue and grooved all the way round so they're designed to be laid directly onto joists WITHOUT support on the ends if these finish away from a joist.
