Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial ended in a mistrial Friday after jurors said for a third time they could not reach a unanimous verdict on whether she was criminally responsible for killing her three children.
On its seventh day of deliberations, the jury wrote, “It is with a heavy heart to report that we haven’t come to a decision and are unable to do so.”
Judge William Sullivan formally declared the mistrial after pausing the proceedings to allow Clancy's defense team to file an emergency appeal. The emergency stay was denied.
