If you were looking for a little spark in your day, you’ve found it. MisterWives' “Other Side” is an absolute roller coaster ride that touts the band’s ambitious, infectious, and slightly left of center synth pop. It’s also an obvious opportunity to mark the band’s decade of activity. Mandy, William, and Etienne came hot out of the NYC CMJ days. 2014's “Reflections” ooo’d and ahh’d its way onto college radios and early Spotify indie playlists. And when their ‘Our Own House’ album arrived, its title track followed suit. Like those of their colleagues The Naked and Famous and Saint Motel, a MisterWives track is likely to pop up at any millennial-hosted Brooklyn rooftop party. (Especially that 2019 banger “SUPERBLOOM.”) We saw firsthand in our studio that the group’s energy is sky high, and supercharged with their pal Charlotte Sands accompanying. Time to stomp around the room a bit.
