With so much drama over Missouri,
It's kinda hard to keep a lid 'top of slavery,
But we, somehow, some way,
Must figure a solution to keep a Civil War at bay,
Thought that, by prohibiting the importation,
of new slaves in 1807,
Slavery be gone, but the cotton gin's jumping,
Making sectionalism,
We got people out in Missouri trying to be State,
Threatening the tie of 'leven-'leven in the Senate,
So what we gonna do,
Tallmadge Amendment tried to stop the spread but fell through,
So this "Peculiar Institution,"
Has become a Southern cornerstone,
So we best Compromise on this,
Free state or slave, Louisiana land rides on this,
36° 30´ is the line of the Missouri Compromise,
North of that, is reserved to be free and rest for slavery,
