Mississippi Makes Homeless Campsites Illegal. The Mercy Cross homeless shelter has no tents on the property anymore. As part of the bill passed by Mississippi Legislature, anyone camping on public property will be given 24 hours' notice to clean the area of their belongings and relocate.
