⚡ Mission 300: Powering Africa's Future | Energy Access for 300 Million People by 2030
Nearly 600 million people across Africa still live without electricity. Mission 300 is changing that.
Jointly led by the World Bank Group and the African Development Bank — with support from The Rockefeller Foundation, the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, and Sustainable Energy for All — Mission 300 is Africa's most ambitious energy access initiative, with a bold goal: connect 300 million people to electricity by 2030.
📌 What's been accomplished so far:
→ ~44 million people already connected to electricity
→ 30 countries have signed National Energy Compacts
→ Zafiri — a $300M permanent capital fund — unlocking investment in distributed renewable energy across Africa
→ A robust pipeline targeting tens of millions more by end of 2026
