So this didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted, I had this idea and didn’t really have enough time to do it right. The colouring is eh again because it’s not my strong point but I’m trying.
I wanted to show more of Anastasia’s backstory in this video to explain why she is the way she is.
Note - Anita is Anastasia’s mother when she is younger, so her mother is still Lady Tremaine as show in previous videos.
Story:
The girls are together eating lunch and Esmeralda is telling them that Mei’s father passed away. The Theme Song Guy pops out of a cake and announces that there will be a performance for the Emperor. He has them show home what they can do and Anastasia doesn’t do so well with the dancing so she is automatically made a singer.
Anastasia is walking back to her room when she comes across Mei crying, remembering what Esmeralda said she tries to cheer Mei up. She tells her a story about her father who she loved very much and how he died. She lets Mei know that no matter what he is always with her like Mei’s father will be. She then goes to practice her act with Ting Ting when someone starts playing the piano, Anastasia has a flashback to a bad memory and runs away. Ting Ting chases after her and comforts Anastasia.
Anastasia refuses to return to rehearsals again, Lucille tries everyday to get her to come with her but Anastasia tells her to go away. Lucille tries again on the day of the performance to get Anastasia to come but she refuses saying she won’t be going on stage. The Theme Song Guy and the Royal Guards show up at the room during the performance and drag Anastasia to the stage. They push her on when it’s her turn.
As she walks over to the piano she remembers her childhood and why she hates music. Her father died and her mother became an alcoholic, one day Anastasia goes upstairs to look at her father’s piano and she begins to play it. Her mother hears her and becomes enraged hating remembering her husband and also because she has been drinking heavily. She attacks Anastasia and destroys the piano. This is what causes Anastasia’s mother to resent her for the rest of her life.
Anastasia sits down at the piano and plays a slow sad song for Kuzco.
Also the girls I’ve shown on the stage all have different backgrounds because it was meant to be like a screen behind them that changes based on the performance that the girl is doing which is why Anastasia is darker and slower than the others.
