Miss Agnes performs with Ipang Aikba, the Rama cultural band, a song she wrote decades ago about the small island of Rama Cay. Rama Cay is located on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua and home to about half of the total indigenous Rama population. The song was originally written as a component of the Rama Language Project to revitalize the endangered Rama language, and this video is part of a series produced in collaboration with the Rama community in an effort to modernize and promote indigenous cultural preservation on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua.
