People in the middle ages only lived to be 30 years old.
Half of all marriages end in divorce.
Women get 77 cents for every 1 dollar a man gets.
These are all statistics that are sort of true, but paint a misleading picture. This video explains them. Enjoy :D
EDIT: so several sources and closer readings have led me to realize that the sources don't 100% KNOW that discrimination is the reason women are paid less for equal work. I personally imagine discrimination plays a role (along with a bunch of other factors), but I truthfully haven't gone far enough into the literature to know—and I'm not going to. This video is done, and the point is that for equal work, women make much more than 77 cents to a man's dollar.
