Mishra ragas are typically employed in lighter classical styles such as thumri, bhajan, ghazal, and semi-classical or film music, where emotional expression takes precedence over strict adherence to classical grammar.
Among the most popular is Mishra Pahadi, which is based on Raag Pahadi but includes embellishments from ragas like Bhairavi, Kafi, and Desh.
