Exclusive to the iPad version of Mirror's Edge was a simple yet enjoyable multiplayer split-screen mode split between two game types; Race Mode and Rivals Mode.
"Race Mode" had you and a friend race each other to the finish line by using your parkour skills to vault, roll and slide through the level as quickly as possible. If enabled, you also had the ability to engage in combat with the other player, knocking them down to stun them for a few seconds to hinder their progress.
"Rivals Mode" focused on collecting bags spread out across various levels, with each player aiming to collect more bags than the other. Taking damage either through combat or falling off the map would award the other player with a bag, so you had to balance speed with agility and aggression to remain on top. Each match had the choice between a 2, 3 or 5 minute timer, allowing you to control how long the battle went for.
