DOUGLAS HADDEN | "Mirk" [Thurso ] - in memory of Ian Sinclair [RIP] @douglashadden2172 | Uploaded July 2023 | Updated October 2024, 6 hours ago.
Remembering the many good times and music shared with fiddle player and song-writer Ian Sinclair, of Thurso, in the far North of Scotland RIP.
Ian was a member of the quartet "Mirk", and this instrumental track - "P.M. George Ross's Farewell To The Black Watch / Captain Lachlan MacPhail of Tiree" - is taken from their 1982 LP recording "Tak' A Dram", and is posted here as a tribute. To the best of my knowledge, it was the first recording in Scotland ever to feature "electronic bagpipes", played by Andy Corsie.
