About the film:
In this intimate video letter, the director addresses her aunt who was killed in a femicide years ago and tells her what it has been like to live and grow up without her. Through a performance in which she projects the last Facebook message her aunt sent her – a reminder that accompanies her every day – the young filmmaker reconstructs her own story, marked by the fear of living in a country dangerous for women and by the complexity of being the only woman in her family. The letter unfolds with recollections and confessions: the last memory she has of her aunt, how she has learned to constantly protect herself, her persistent feeling of fear, and the desire to find a way to move forward while still speaking of her. The narrative culminates in a profoundly cathartic moment: a conversation with her father in which, for the first time, they both allow themselves to speak of the dead woman with affection, laughter and nostalgia, opening a space for healing.
