The great thing about the Korg Volca Drum is that it not only can play drum sounds, but also tones. It's just a little tricky to program those tones, if you want them to be on standard pitch: for each tone, you need to set the voice to a specific PITCH value, like A3=23 or D4 = 43. And then you have to fine tune the voice using the AMOUNT value. Also, you only have 6 voices per kit, but that's enough to have like a bass drum and five tones playing a pentatonic minor scale.
Since we are no eco-pigs, we of course do not use batteries to run our gear! But you can use an old AAA battery to hold 4 steps at a time to create a loop. That's a little easier than doing that with your fingers. For more synth & fun please visit Synthesaurus on patreon.com/synthesaurus
