Mini Modular is a new series where I explore how much music you can make with a very small Eurorack system.
In this first episode, I build a 40HP ambient-focused Eurorack skiff, with Mutable Instruments Rings as the main sound source. The goal is to create a compact system that’s simple enough for beginners, but flexible enough to grow into more advanced patches.
I start with a patch-from-scratch, explaining each connection and decision along the way, before moving into more developed ambient patches and musical examples. The focus isn’t just on learning modular concepts, but on making good, expressive music within tight limitations.
