This is a Super Joule Ringer Circuit by Lasersaber. Instead of the hand wound transformer that he designed for this circuit, I am using a 3 - 300 v inverter transformer sold by Electronic Goldmine. I am running this circuit off a single AA battery and lighting replacement bulbs for LED nightlights. I have run some light box tests as shown by PhysicsProf and finding this circuit to be extremely efficient. The LED lights used are rated at 0.9 and 0.57 watts. I am getting the best results with the 0.9 watt bulb. My worst reading is with the 0.57watt bulb and the 2n-3904 transistor. those results are 20% light output using 7.5% power compared to mains. I have not checked multiple bulbs in the light box yet, but suspect this should give even better results.
I will continue testing with different voltages to see if results can get better.
This setup is very stable, lights every time without heat issues. I was amazed this setup works so well and is so simple. Thanks for watching.
