Ming & FS - Skills and Grace (ft. Napoleon Maddox)
It's celebration time! To commemorate the 30 years of Om Records, we've dug into the vaults and pulled out an un-released LP from the one and only Ming & FS.
Originally released independently and regrettably absent from all streaming platforms, Back to One has been completely remastered and is finally available worldwide! The title track is featured on the new Om Records -30 Years LP and captures all the magic of the blending of hip hop, breaks, and heavy earth rumbling drum and bass. The album represents an era when turntable wizardry mixed with live instrumentation and electronic music culture.
We rockin'
Cannot kill this magazine
Always gonna be hard times if you live in this magazine, We rock
Always gonna be hard times, We rock
We rockin' rock this
It's always been hard times, We rock
Rock, rock, we rock this spot
Rock, rock, we rock this spot
I get tired of hearing MCs rhyme about blah who got the Gucci, Louis, and the big car
OG Riz, I can’t see who you are
You just drowning in your BS, trying to be fresh so
For you I got one question
Are your rhymes dope from pouring Don Perignon?
Nah, probably just a little soggy
But you try to act brand new homie
It’s too bad that you forgot I know your mommy
I was learning the game, you was trained on the potty
Somewhere along the rhyme, you lived a life of John Gotti
I sit back and contemplate and say, huh, not hardly now
Couldn't' be this has gone too far
So I slip on my gear, sit down in my car
Pull up to the club inside, see who you are, totally misrepresented hip-hop
When they see who I am, they'll know who you not
You basically a little rascal with a nose is snot
Now, close the doors and latch the locks cause when we hop on stage we rock, rock
'Cause when we hop on stage we rock, rock, rock
Close the doors and latch the locks 'cause when we hop on stage we rock
Close the doors and latch the locks 'cause when we hop on stage we rock, rock, rock
♫
Rock, rock, rock this spot. Rock, rock, so we rock right
Did you see the last show at the spot 'round the way? It was packed. Two MCs, one DJ
But what they lack? I really can't say, you know, I ain't dissin' but something was missing
When you get to the jam, I hit you with a new invention
Beats that glisten and the rhymes that shine
By the time you leave the show, you know I'm one of a kind
It ain't my fault you was taught to be deaf, dumb, and blind but I know better so the chatter
and the job is mine that when they pack the place, fill it up to the top
We pray for skills and grace and then rock, rock, rock, rock, rock
So when they pack the place, fill it up to the top. Pray for skills and grace and then rock
♫
Ain't my fault you was taught to be deaf, dumb, and blind
but I know better so the chatter and the job is mine
when they pack the place fill it up to the top
We pray for skills and grace and then rock
Rock, rock, rock, rock, rock

Colossus - Innacity
[Verse 1]
Restless I guess this
The way the world is creeping in the night
Skyscrapers blocking all my dreams
Visions of tomorrow just out of sight
See the faces and the pain
As the rain covers cries of a child
Innocence of life waiting for the first dawn kiss of the squad
Strangers on the train how do we explain
What we should and surely won
Is it the road, is it the gold
Is it the finish line
Is it the light, is it the dark
Or does it intertwine
Children of the dirt suffering the hurt
Of a lonely lost mind
No identity, whos the enemy
Whos the one you fear most
New century, new millenium
Hides his face like a ghost
[Hook]
The style whenever
The preacher man says get it together
For all your sins pray to the lord before it ends
For all you sins pray to the lord before it ends
(x2)
[Verse 2]
And now my hopes are gone
And Im torn between fact and fiction
The black is blue born from a shade
Some say is an affliction
[Break]
Thats what I heard
So I guess my struggle is letting go
[Verse 2]
The winners of the game
Sinners of the game
Cloud the view
Only the strong who hear the song
Of the universe see it through
In the eyes of a child
In the wise face of his ancient race
The setting is new
But the soul is in the same place
Wandering oasis of time
The truth, the all
The faces of time
The love and the sorrow
The loss of now awaiting tomorrow
All things, the be
The I, the am, the us, the we
In time well see if understanding the source is the key
A blues like rhyme
A black sun waiting to shine
Now were in the void of creation
Standing at the door with elation
And time will reveal
Mind roots for all to feel
