This is my arrangement of Mines (Icicles) from Stardew Valley. I arranged this track for "Deeper in the Mines," a sequel album to "Deep in the Mines" that celebrates Stardew Valley's 10th anniversary.

We're back with more Stardew Valley! Here's my other track from "Deeper in the Mines," our album that released last week!
I chose Icicles because I’ve always loved the song’s intro and thought it would be perfect for mallet percussion, especially since it gets to show off the full range of the 5 octave marimba. I also had a ton of fun with the drum set part for this since it challenged me to work on my foot coordination with opening and closing the hi-hat with my left foot while playing the bass drum with my right foot. This is a sequel album to “Deep in the Mines,” so I wanted this track to feature both of this album’s new arrangers: you can hear donut from Warp Whistles Music on some bass clarinet swells and clarinet melodies and Ian Martyn laying down electric bass in the latter half of the track. I like to think of the first half of the arrangement as a faithful cover of the original tune performed by live musicians, while the second half is essentially me taking the theme and messing around with it to build on the "groovy-ness" of it and give more instruments a chance to shine. I hope you enjoy listening to this track, alongside five other fantastic arrangements, as we explore deeper in the mines!
