Miner's Needle Trail - Superstition Wilderness
If you watch this channel much, you know Tina and I don't do many short, easy hikes. But we both recently had COVID-19 and are recovering, so we have to build back up to where we were. I'm not looking for any sympathy here - just explaining the change of pace.....Anyway, I still want to create and we definitely still want to hike, so this past week, we mixed things up a bit. In our choice of hikes as well as my shooting and editing techniques.
I was really happy for Tina to get back out there and sit by a campfire. The outdoors is good for the soul. The next day, we picked a trail without much physical challenge, where we could go as far as we wanted and turn around at any time.
And it was great. Camping was great. The trail - Dutchman's 104 - was mellow, but also beautiful. Despite extensive fire damage from a couple years ago.
Anyway, I hope everyone is well. Maybe this can inspire someone to go out and push their boundaries to get a little sanity back in your life. We all definitely need it.
Music by Epidemic Sound:
- In Our Hands - Ten Towers
- Your Absence - Sayuri Hayashi Egnell
- El Son de Cuba
My mango salsa recipe (it's awesome):
- 1/4 diced onion
- 1 diced mango
- 1 diced tomato
- Cilantro to taste
- 1 diced jalapeno (I remove the rind and seeds)
- Juice from 2 limes
- 1 finely diced jalapeno olive (or more if you love them)
- 1T red wine vinegar
- Salt & pepper to taste
Serve with grilled shrimp in lettuce wraps or a tortilla. I'm now a cooking channel, so you know.
